Hello everybody,

I just got an email from Buffalo asking us to submit our passports and fees for stamping PR cards. Has anyone received an email as us? I ask the question is because all of my previous requests from Buffalo are via regular mails.

My second question is on my family status. Since we have our first baby born in Canada (with a Canadian passport), I imply Buffalo requires only my wife's and mine passports? Otherwise it does not make any sense to me. As we have updated our family status at the same time when we submitted our medical requests, Buffalo knows our family status before sending the email. Could anyone confirm for me in the case? Am I right? Sorry about the stupid question as I need to make sure everything before sending our passports.

Any help is much appreciated!

You are correct. You do not need to mail your baby's passport who is canadian citizen. Can you share your timeline plz

Thank you. I just remember some major dates of my application process:
- applied at Buffalo in Sep 2008
- AOR: Feb 2009
- Proof of funding 1st time: Apr 2009
- Medical request and Proof of funding (2nd time): Oct 2009
Document sent: Nov 2009
- Passport requested: Jan 2010.
That is 17months in total.

Thank you all for your responses.

Regarding my first question: I found the thread below is useful.
canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/-t10134.0.html
Therefore, emails from Buffalo are normal.

On my second question. as my baby is a Canadian, I don't have to include him in my application. One may find the following link is useful (the Q/A at the section "After the visa is issued"):
dfait-maeci.gc.ca/canada-europa/france/visas/faq_imm-en.asp#after

BTW, we got the visas and the confirmations of permanent of residence. Good luck to all of you.
Enjoy your weekends.
