Hi Guys,

I need your help to decide about visa office where they will process my application.

I am an Indian Citizen, working in USA on H1B. So which country should I choose to process my application?

Need to decide this before submitting my application of PR as FSW.

Thanks.

The time-line is almost same everywhere, if you think within 1 year of time you will not be working in the US and will be back in India then select ND because if they call for an interview then you may not make it here or will be expensive. If you think you will still be here then select NY - personally I would suggest not to choose Buffalo as they are very slow, although its not fact but this is based on my observation.

Good Luck!

I would strongly recomend you to keep away from the dead office" Buffalo" , New delhi office finalizes processing the applications within 6 months or less. really, Buffalo is  a dead office.

Go with New delhi with closed eyes.

Thank you very much guys for your help.

I am thinking of filling my from New Delhi but I have couple of questions;

1) Can I choose New Delhi, even if I am applying form USA?
2) Suppose everything goes well and they call me for interview then I need to go to ND, right? Is there are any way to waive off that interview.?
3) If I get call within year then my wife can't join me for interview process (she is on OPT, she can't leave USA until she get H1B) so can I go alone for interview?

Thanks.

Facts:
 - If you are a Citizen of India and residing in US since 1yr you have option to apply from either - Buffalo or New Delhi.
 - All applicants are not called for interviews. But everyone need to send your PASSPORT to LOCAL VISA OFFICE specified in your application.
 - OPT students can leave US and reenter.
 - New Delhi is Faster as compared to Buffalo according to recent Trackit data, but historically it had a processing time of 2-6yrs.

Consult/confirm with others too.......

Hope this helps
