BUFFALO APPLICANTS - File transferred to other VO due to Buffalo closing down

well i havent gotten any email from buffalo yet,ive been waiting for a  notice of transferred application from them, i dont where did they put my application,my application is turning to its 14th month by next week..whats ur status bud?

Buffalo is closed so I doubt you would be getting any emails from them now. I think all the applicants from Buffalo would be transferred to Ottawa but dont know if we will be getting any emails in regard to the transfer. My ECAS status is In Process

I applied there last month. I got AOR yesterday and did not said any thing . They still mentioned Buffalo

I found this in the CIC page... Maybe useful information....
Economic and Family Class applications that have already been submitted to CIO-S or CPC-M and have been screened for positive eligibility have already been redirected to CPP-O.  Applicants are not required to contact CPP-O to ensure their application was redirected.  Applicants will be contacted once a final decision has been made.

Applications that are currently at the Buffalo visa office will be transferred to CPP-O for final processing.  Applicants are not required to contact CPP-O to ensure their application has been transferred.  Applicants will be contacted at the next stage of processing or once a final decision has been made. 

The closure of Citizenship and Immigration Canada's (CIC) visa office in Buffalo is part of a broader strategy to centralize more of our overseas processing in Canada.

Buffalo consulate id closed for good and seems all our files have been transferred to Ottawa. I want all of us to keep each other updated as we are all in the same boat. It already has been 15 months since I applied..

Mine is IN PROCESS.. The problem is I dont know which VO is handling my case now. If contacting Buffalo will help or will they even reply to our emails? Even if we apply for GCMS Notes, which Visa Office should we mention?

How do you know that? All I heard was that most files will be going to Ottawa or other North American Offices.

Ok guys, joining this discussion forum as I am in the same boat! From what I understand reading the notice on CIC's website, all Buffalo applicants' files will be transferred to CPP-O. We should expect to hear from them soon (if not PPR, at least an official confirmation of transfer). I would advise against trying to get any updates, as it might only slow them down.

BTW, got my GCMS notes, dated late April.
Essentially, they say Medical is fine.
CRIMINALITY: in progress
SECURITY: not started

Does e-cas changing to In Process indicate that both CRIMINALITY and SECURITY are done?

does it mean that the application from buffalo even if it'll be transferred to other VO will still be this slow? we got our medical last nov 2011, my friends actually have their medical ref early this year, fortunately they receive their PPR 1st wk of april and this last week of May they already have their visas.. are they lucky enough because their application is not from buffalo?? i'm a bit worried because my husband in canada is expecting us to go there this summer so we can adjust with the environment in preparation for winter.. >sigh<

I think it will be faster because applications will be distributed across different VOs in the US.

I think thats what it means, they have all your paperwork and can now proceed with actual processing your file
