Friends, My file was transferred to detroit from Buffalo on Nov 16, 2011. I received medical request on Jan 20, 2012 and got medical done on feb 7, 2012. Now, Detroit vo has confirmed that they are waiting only for my FBI results.
1) Do they send passport request by email or snail mail? 2) Once they receive medical results (and all other documents requested by them) , how much time for passport request? 3) Once we send passports, how much time for stamping?
Any input regarding the timeline will be appreciated.
Congratulations to all who received ppr/stamping, and good luck to others who are waiting (like me). Thank you.

Hi 1) Do they send passport request by email or snail mail? - email 2) Once they receive medical results (and all other documents requested by them) , how much time for passport request? - depends at least 4 weeks, after 4 weeks send a note to check status , in my case after 7 weeks realized they had not recvd. the FBI results - after i provided them wth enough details they traced it 3) Once we send passports, how much time for stamping? - still waiting ;-) (sent 2 days ago)

Hi Kummy, y work permit was expired on 1st week of Jan, and I have applied for LMO. However, I am waiting for positive LMO to appy for extension of my work permit. Henceforth, I wasn't able to go to Detroit to get the visa stamped personally. I did my medicals on 29th December, and the doctor sent my blood report, and all the medical report to CIC on 17th January. It took them almost a month to issue the PPR. I am not sure if that means my application is approved or if they still have the veto power to reject the application at this stage.

How do you get the Visa stamped in-person? I do not think you can do that. May be I am wrong. Would you care to explain a little bit if it is possible to get the Visa stamped in-person. I have received the PPR yesterday. I would love to got to Visa office and get it stamped in-person if there is a possibility. Please let me know what is the procedure. Good Luck everyone.

Mirpur,
Congrats. I am not so sure, but I read in this forum that a few people have gone in-person to their VO for visa stamping.
Does your PPR say anything about in-person stamping ?
I will find out the thread and let you know.
Regards, Kummy29

Hello guys,
What is the criteria for transferring the file from Buffalo to any other visa office? Coz i got the line on my online status saying "Your application was reviewed and we started processing on February 9....." does that mean my file will not be transferred any other visa office.
Thanks, NM423
