hope this is true news
I read in another forum , expert said that CIC implementing new visa processing system and it will be finished in march 2011. So all IO are busy with traning of that sys. It's predicted that after march 2011 , process will be much faster than right now.

i cant wait till next july.. 17 months from when most of us sent in our documents is around sept to dec 2011.. so i'm really hoping to get it by this oct ....
lets see what happens post march and gcms implmentation..
also i'm ordering my caips notes to get some peace of mind and see whats really going on .

CIC has issued highest no of visa in 2010.
And Planinng to cut by5 % next year....

yeah i know about the cuts.. more importantly, the 20 % cuts happening in FSW .. that 5% is only for reunification kind of dependant visas..
i think you can stay in canada on visitor visa or work with work permit while applying for PR.. i am in canada on WP right now..

Can u get work permit if u r in canada while ur PR file is in progress
Our PR file is assessd In CIO initially tht means do we hav intial approval ?

PR an work permit works independently.. one does not influence the other .. i.e if u are not applying in FSW2 category.
"Our PR file is assessd In CIO initially tht means do we hav intial approval ?" nopes.. you have to get a job offer and apply for LMO and then work permit.. if your NOC is LMO excempt, then u dont need LMO.. just straight away apply for work permit.

anuM is right. WP and PR work differently. I am myself applying for my WP extension today or tomorrow as it ends March 31, 2011. Also, I have applied and got my study permit while my PR was was being sent from CIO to Buffalo(around July 2010) and nobody even asked about it. So, you should be fine to apply. |
