Why is the forum so dead?? no events ??
i have one to share... i went to buffalo to get a re-entry visa as I am planning to go back home for a few days for vacation and it was a breeze.. they gave the visa within 1 hour or so.. wish PR visa would be given similarly too......
one question though, will there be any problem coming back from home on a temporary visa when my PR is in process??? will it be a good idea to wait for the PR before travelling out and then into Canada during this time? ANybody has experience or opinion on this regard??

Of course you can go out of Canada. I am living in Canada under WP since 2005. and still I am not immigrant.I am waiting for PR like you. During this time I went USA couple times,Cuba,Europe,my country.....and never had any problems with that. I have multiplay entry visa and I am travelling every year.My life can not be stopped beacose of this stupid long wait process. Relax yourself and be free.Take multiplay visa if you need it and go visit your family.Some thins in this life are more important than immigrating to Canada. Good luck.  |

i did, but there was no science to my decision.. i just got fed up of waiting and my 2nf bfd since AOR is coming up and its about 10 months since 2nd AOR.. so i did it last month.. waiting for a a week before i follow up with buffalo VO did you guys see the updated timelines? buffalo is now 21 months.. i'm sooo depressed.. it keeps climbing upwards.. |

oh no - have they again moved from 17 to 21 months. this is really a pain for the whole wait.. they seriously do not want more people. I think that to start a new process its just making more bulk on the system The cec takes 14 months now so most of our cases will be done before that |

I remember that someone said buffalo office works by season. I do not know how they calculate and separate seasons, but I know they have not focus on the application before 6.26 from June. I guess August may still not be our month.

Looking at BFFs which were posted in our group I can see that CAIPS indicate September-October as next review date (hopefully it will be medical stage). Then 3-4 months after medical - PPR in Jan or Feb 2012, seems logical and withing current Buffalo timelines (21 months) and experience of my friends who got PR from buffalo in recent year or two (most waited around 20-24 months).
So I suggest to relax and enjoy the summer) Personally Im working now on the issues which I will possible face after landing (re-certification in my field etc), lots of stuff can be done even without PR, so as not to lose time after actual landing
