Hello all.

I wonder if this is normal/common:
ECAS says (when the sponsor logs in):

"We received your application to sponsor XX on July 14, 2011.
We started processing your application on October 5, 2011.
We sent you a letter on September 29, 2011 about the decision on your application.
We received XX's application for permanent residence on July 14, 2011.
We started processing XX's application on January 6, 2012.
Medical results have been received."

So, the sponsor was approved and I got the CSQ.
But Bucharest is only starting to look at my file now?!?!  They waited until January to start working on it?  Am I reading this right?  In the meantime, my address disappeared and reappeared on ECAS.

Also, I don't understand how they sent the sponsor letter on Sept 29th but started working on the application on Oct 5th?! 

If anyone has any insights into the mystery that is CIC ....

An "in process" or "started processing" update is actually posted at the end of the processing, especially when it comes with medicals received.  It means a decision is close, so expect a PPR soon, or if the applicant is visa-exempt, to receive their COPR soon.

Hello,

  Do you mind if I ask you a few questions?

  If you don't, I would like to know if you have recevied your AOR from Bucharest and if so have you recivded it by mail or by email?

  If I ask you that it is becouse I've been wainting for the AOR for nearly three months, and I am not sure when I am going to recive it.

  And yes you are right about CIC, which is a mistery always. Since my husbund got the approval letter on 8 November 2011, no replay whatsoever.

We got the sponsor approval  in the mail in MTL.  My passport request came in by email.  I never got any mail at my mailing address -- my husband received my CSQ at his address.  I got the file number over the phone from CIC -- one agent did not want to give it to us, but we ended up getting transferred to someone and he gave it to us (he was actually really cool and totally understood that some things in the rules did not make much sense and was really willing to work with us).

There were definitely times of total silence when I almost thought that the application got lost mysteriously, even though I knew it was in Bucharest ....

Cheer up, it will come through!

  Your answer is very hepfull to me.

  I am very often wondered what happened with our file where it is and if I will get a letter from Bucharest soon, since 8 November when CIC said they sent our file to Bucharest.

  Also in the mean time we found out that our file was sent to Otawa first just to be created a new file and then it's going to be send to Bucharest, here we might have a delay of almost three months once again. On 25 January they said our file entered in the sistem in Bucharest but from then who knows what it's going to happen.

  It's really a mistery how CIC works and I am really glad that anxity it's gone already for you.
