Hi all, thanks for the amazing Forum Smiley
I am a doctor ( IMG), working right now as a medical officer outside canada. My partner is british which means she can go canada easily for visit ( up to 6 months). we r planning on starting our own business in Ontario or british columbia.
Is it not possible to come on any other way than the permanent residence route , start the business, and go through it for couple of years then apply for PR ? Cant she go before me and apply for some type of temporary visa on which i can join her and then both apply for PR ?

the reason am asking is that we are not comfortable where we are right now in the middle east especially that shes british and shes not used to the culture, so decided to make the move to Canada were her Aunt lives.

She can not go and start a business on a visitor visa.  She could however look into a provincial nominee program as an investor.   She would be applying for PR and there would be conditions about investing, running a business etc.
