I am flying through BA on Oct 19. Just want to know the Hand baggage allowance offered by them as I am getting confusing answers. Their site says We must be able to lift the bag to place it in right place. That means we can carry as much as we can lift subject to size of the bag. Some people say we can carry only 7-8 Kgs.

Opinion of friends who travelled through BA is required.

Thanks & regards.

its not that worrying thing. 7-8 kg is fine plus 1 laptop. bag should not be too big to fit in cabin area of plane.

Please check the e-ticket which states the size/ dimensions of the hang baggage. I have travelled with BA many times, usually they dont weigh the hand bag but you should be able to carry it or good if it has a roller. Moreover, in the flight you should be able to pull it and keep it on overhead compartment without any help or extra effort.

I also booked my tickets on BA on 25th oct and e-ticket states 2 pcs of 23kg luggage and 1 pc of hand luggage. I am trying to stuff in around 10kgs in hand bag plus laptop & PS3.

Kindly advise if one needs a transit visa for London if you travel by BA from Kuwait To Toronto via London. If so what are the formalities to obtain the transit visa

Hi Sanjeev,
I am also going on 19th of this months. BA has allowed 2 baggage of less than 23 kg each on each ticket with 7-8 kg hand bag.

Thanks so much for the info.

Just wanted to confirm because was traveling to Portugal with a schegan visa via london by British Airways last month and BA did not allow me to board the flight cause i had no transit visa to london (my transit was only for 2 hrs). so wanted to confirm so that the same does not occur if I travel to Canada via london. I do have PR Card for Canada.

1. No transit visa needed if you are tavelling to North America.

2. 23KG * 2 per ticket + standard 7-8 KG hand luggage - I have carried 12KG hand luggage amd they didn't say anything.
