 Can i bring some necessary medicine with me to Canada  (without doctor's prescription) to be on the safe side. And should I mention the names in the goods accompanying list?

Yes, you can carry medicines to Canada. There is no need to mention all of them separately. Just group them together under the heading ' over-the- counter medicines'. If you want to carry prescription medicines then do carry doctor's prescription along.

The term "necessary medicine" can mean a multitude of things, knowing specifics would be a good option.

If someone brings prescription drugs then they should as you say, carry the prescription.
Over the counter medicines, Canada has the same or similar available "over the counter", so why bring them to Canada in the first place?

 Thanks for your responses. The thing is that the drugs i want to bring with me do not need a special doctor prescription in my country. Among them are such drugs as "Strepsils" for sore throat, activated carbon and some herbs. How can i find out if they need a special prescription in Canada?

  Hi,
Herbal medicines or various  indigenous preparations for purpose  of healing or maintaining normal health are not considered as prescription medicines. In case any CBSA agents open and examine your baggage at your a port of entry you can explain the purpose of it.

 There would not be any problem for bringing reasonable quantity of such medicines.

Of course you can bring them, but maybe you want to use the space in your case for better things

guys but what about the "Ayurvedic medicines", I'm Indian Nationality and living in Australia on visa right now, and some of the "Ayurvedic medicines" is not avaialble in Australia, so planning to grab in India when i got my visa and fly for canada after getting canadian PR, will it be problem??

Many people from India used to bring Ayurvedic medications. You will be safe if you can get a written letter from the pharmacy stating that the items sold to you on invoice No--- dated are medicines for personal use. This would help you in case any customs people got a doubt about the medicines. Usually there could not be any problem for a properly labelled and sealed package of medicine.
