What should one do if there was no certificate issued at birth. Shortly I do not have a birth certificate. Does anyone has such a case and applied or planning to apply to CIC?

Please help.

Apply at the Indian Embassy/consulate and you will get one.

Apply for a birth certificate thru the nearest Indian consulate. They will issue it based on the date of birth listed on your passport. This procedure takes about a day or so, if you go there in person.

Wow that is interesting, and just one more thing, did you submit it to CIC? Was it accepted.

The reason I am asking is, if you submit that consulate birth certificate for the I485 processing it ends up with a RFE, where they ask for the parents to swear on a affidavit to confirm the date of birth (if birth certificate was not issued within the year of birth)
