Give us more details about what features are important to you. Do you like to eat out in restaurants a lot?   Do you have a car or need to use the bus? Etc.

Where will you work?  If you don't know, tell us what type of work you'd do. If you work in the high tech field, you'll be closer to work on the west end, not the east end.

Do you intend to live in a house or apartment? What is you budget?  All these factors and more will help determine where you can live in Ottawa.

Taxes are higher (compared to Ottawa).

Toby has asked the main questions; Please provide more information, then we can provide better answers.

FWIW I live in the west of Ottawa.

Hi!Thank you all for your info. Well, I am a Medical technologist and my husband is a nurse. I believed we can't practice right away in our profession. Coming from the Philippines need to take the examination. We are under FSW and soon be migrating, just waiting for our visas. Maybe, if got lucky we can work us laboratory assistants. For now, we will be renting a place that would just appropriate for the three of us ( 1 year old daughter ). Bus accessibility is kinda one of the considerations. Thanks a lot

What I would do is locate the major hospitals in Ottawa, which is where you both will likely work. Then look for rentals in those areas.  Because hospitals are usually located ion developed neighbourhoods, public transit -- and schools (which you will need in a few years) -- will be readily accessible.

Knowing the rental cost of one neighbourhood over another might influence your decisions on which hospitals to target first when you seek jobs.

Of course, if it will take you a year or more to get certified to work at your professions, you will have time to explore different areas in person, which is much better than by Internet. Then you could move to the preferred area.
