Simple answer is NO. You must spend 1095 days in canada out of 4 years to apply for citizenship.

This is something I have wondered about - I assume these do not have to be continous days? For example you can live in Canada for 2 years, take a 6 month trip away, live another 1 year there and then apply for citizenship?

Also I imagine you have to keep close track of your holidays outside of Canada? For example, after we hit the 3rd anniversary of living there as residents, and we've had 3 weeks holiday outside of Canada during the week, we have to wait a further 3 weeks before filing our application for Citizenship to ensure we fulfill the 1095 days?

Also I would recommend attending a CIIP course after you get med requests!

Though not continuous, the total number of days that a person stays in canada should meet the requirement before applying.
