chow,
the webpage was modified on 02/19 to include state pcc. if your application was sent to cic before that date, i would not worry about it. jmho.
That date is close bro. I sent it first on Jan 30 then they returned it for I797A that reached Buffalo on 2/18. They cashed my money order on 02/24 . Let us see what happens. Mother of God Have mercy on us.

Though they mention state certificates are needed ,CIC Buffalo states the process to get Police clearance as FBI process only ..correct me if I am wrong
Do I need to provide a police certificate when applying for permanent residence?
Yes. Applicants should provide a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) certificate with fingerprints, and State certificates from all U.S. states where they have resided for a period of 6 months or more since turning age 18.
How and where do I obtain one?
You should:
get a cover letter and fingerprint card from the FBI. You can download these from the FBI website in the Related Links section at the bottom of the page or write to the address below and have them mailed to you. have fingerprints taken. You can have this done by: a local police department or a private fingerprinting business. (When you have your fingerprints taken, you will need photo identification.)
include a Certified cheque or money order for the fees, payable to the U.S. Treasury mail the letter, fingerprints and fee payment to: FBI, Criminal Justice Information Services Division Attention: SCU, Mod D-2 1000 Custer Hollow Road Clarksburg, West Virginia 26306 U.S.A.
Processing times are normally between 16 and 18 weeks. The FBI will send you the results of their check by returning your fingerprint card to you. That will be your police certificate. You should send the card and any attached documents to the Citizenship and Immigration Canada office processing your file. All police certificates must be originals. Photocopies will not be accepted by our office.
For more detailed information, visit the FBI website in the Related Links section at the bottom of the page.

Yes, I believe they do, but I think there are companies that does this service without you having to travel to TX. Now I don't know any of these companies nor how much does it cost. If somebody does, please let me know too, same thing for the FBI (i know it can be done tru the website, but I still want to know about companies).

When I mentioned the FBI, it was for me. .Thats what looks little strange for me.Since anyways I'm doing FBI Fingerprinting why would I need to send fingerprints to get PCC ? I don't know why they do that. But I think somebody already answered that.

I guess for us who already sent application to CIC it is better to wait and see if they request the PCCs...
BTW it seems to be a little expensive at least in my case..... I checked the website and the average is $25 dollars each PCC... for me and my wife and multiply for 3 states I've lived in is around us$150.00...
Also some require fingerprints... some must be done directly in the state, at least in the case of OH.... not complaining just that it adds more hassle to the process.....

Guys,
as far as I know we only need to get FBI fingerprinting done to satisfy PCC requirement. This is where we give them the list of all US addresses (xyz number of States). Then when the report comes, we send it to CIC.
This is the very first time that I hear about individual US States PCC.
Can someone clarify?
