I have been nominated by Alberta. I am currently preparing my documents to apply for CIC process. I have obtained FBI clearance. I am awaiting PCC from my home country, and thought that was the last piece.
However, the CIC website now shows "Applicants should provide a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) certificate with fingerprints, and State certificates from all U.S. states where they have resided for a period of 6 months or more since turning age 18." Do I need to get PCC from all the states in the U.S. now?

Thank you in advance.

Thank you for your response BCGuy,

I have started the process for getting PCC's from the 3 states in the US I have lived > 6 months. The CIC website has links for all the states - very helpful.

engg, they are valid for 3 months for CIC purposes.

Yes you do

What is the logic behind this? I really don't get it.
I called the NJ Police department Head Quarters. They said if you do FBI clearance that encompasses all the states of the USA. FBI checks all individual states criminal records database, so individual state Police clearances are redundant. Is CIC trying to help State police departments to generate some additional revenue?

A lot of US states only enter Felonies on NCIC (FBI) and they consider DWIs as misdemeanors and don't enter them.

All,
Who needs to apply for "State certificates from all U.S. states"? Is there any date that we can consider "State certificates from all U.S. states"  mandatory for CIC application? Is it applicable to who ever sent their CIC applications already?
Thanks

Thank you for your info. My CIC application reached to them before 02/19. I think i don't have to worry about it.
