Hey, thank's a lot Leon! Does anybody know if there is a set date to end the Entry Level (Tourism and hospitality) BC PNP? I know it's a pilot project and somebody told me it's going to be finished by february 2010, right after the Winter Olympics. Does anyone know anything about that?? Thank you!!

BCguy might know but like all immigration programs, it will end when it's not needed anymore.  If you want to get in that way, you better do it sooner than later.  Nothing is set in stone with immigration, everything can change quickly.

It will be changed,some job categories will be removed,some added and some retained at the end of the pilot

Thanks guys! BCguy, do you know when it will be changed? And when will the pilot be finished or extended? I'm on my 3rd month, so I would be able to apply in october; I guess I"ll be able to participate.

Since PNP is based on sponsorship, if you are already working for the employer on a temporary permit when you apply for PNP, you must stay with that employer until you have your PR.

When you are not already in Canada and use an AEO to apply for PNP and PR, as long as you are not applying for a temporary work permit for another employer at the same time, your application will go through.  When you get your PR, you do not have to work for the employer who gave you the AEO, you can work anywhere.  The employer who gave you the AEO is also not obligated to hire you after you get PR.  He may have filled the position in the meantime and not need you anymore.

Can someone please point me to the process that a potential employer has to follow in order to nominate a foreigner? Is it usual practice and hence most big companies know about it already or is it a specialized process, much like the painful GC sponsorship here in the USA?

Companies will be familiar with it if they have hired foreign workers before and some may even have a regular agency they use to handle these applications.

It looks like Alberta updated their processing times for all categories yesterday. The much publicized H1-B SRS program is now up to 8 months of processing time! That is totally crazy in my opinion, but that's what you get when you don't have to pay for it, I guess!

BCGuy - I think you guys should keep up with the fast responses for nomination applicants!

hello BCGuy,ive been reading your answers regarding some questions and i think they are great help to inquirers,i have my questions too.Ive been on a temporary work permit here for almost 9mos,ive read in the BC website that after nine months of continued work you can apply forr a BC PNP,my question is;
1.what if my employer wont sponsor me in applying for the program becoz i have some co-employees who are far ahead with me that their work permit is only being extended,i want my family to be here so i would prefer a PR rather than renew/extend my work permit.
can i apply for another employer who will be willing to sponsor my PNP in BC without putting me in bad taste with my current employer?

2.im on a Pilot Project for LMO as a FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVER,do my job qualify for PNP?

3.do the PNP have a requirement for wage rates?

4.my wife is a Registered Pharmacist in the Philippines,will her occupation help in the approval of my PNP application?
