I have also the same confusion...

Can anybody tell me what does the bank statement contains ?
Does it only shows the balance on the date it is issued or it shows the balance sheet for some time period ?

Hi,

Yes you need  a Bank statement - original - with bank seal is to be submitted as POF with the application. Usually CIC prefer a bank statement  for a period of 6 months or more which shows  the required fund or more. That can be either by way of term deposit (fixed) or any other form of account in your name (or in spouse's a/c if  she is also included in your  application ).

In fact you should maintain the required fund in your account till you get the PR visa and should show the POF ( cash, draft or TC preferred) while landing. But if you withdraw the amount  in between the process and utilize it for other needs, you may probably have to face the consequence if any. I cannot say what would happen if you withdraw the funds..

Hi Nikhil Cheesy

Bank certificate will be in any style according to the Bank, a/c type and  of operated accounts. For example if you have only one fixed deposit, the bank may issue a letter like this: ( the text can be different ):

  Bank Name, address

  Certificate of account
or To whom it may cencern

This is to certify that Mr/Ms .............. has the following account with this bank.

Account No.........
Date of deposit ..................
Maturity date ......................
Amount .............................
Maturity value ......................

Bank Seal                                Signature, Seal and date

 Cheesy Hi Nikhil,

As you don't have  enough funds in your account so far, what else you can do?. At least deposit the minimum amount or more if you can prior to the application date in the form of fixed deposit. When you are ready with the application get the statement from the bank.

Yes thats what i think. to prove that we have to give them proof.  like as for jewelry show the sale receipt. for car transfer papers.so is the case with home.

CIC does not recommend selling of HOUSE before you get your visas. Alternatively, you could arrange for atleast 3 different companies to assess the worth of your House and send these as evidence of POF with a statement that you will sell the property and free it of any loan/mortgage when Visa would be issued. This is acceptable.

Hi luckymystery,

Yes, you can sell your Car and jewelry to show POF. You will have to provide connecting evidence for both of them though. For eg. the car papers should be in your name and also proofs that the jewelry belonged to you.
