Im planning to land in Halifax and i will be taking with me bank draft payable via BMO Montreal branch.
Will this draft be accepted at halifax?

yes..DD, Cash, travellers cheques ...all acceptable

But we are not allowed to land in montreal and the draft is on  BMO Montreal branch

Yes the bank draft is issued to BMO Montreal is accepted by any other bank in Canada. You can give the draft to the particular  bank where you are going to open the account ( in any province where  you are going to settle down ). It is not necessary it should be BMO. Your bank will get the amount collected from BMO Montreal accordingly and will debit some amount for their charges from it. Please note that you can open a bank account  after getting your SIN from Service Canada.

Yes the bank draft is issued to BMO Montreal is accepted by any other bank in Canada. I just want to let you know, that i arrived in india and you dont have to declare DD if its not payable in Rs. and is not on an indian bank
