Janathan, Canada has the rule of maintaining not being Absent for more than 163 days, once you enter first and secure your PR card. Since, I'll be starting my graduate program in the US from this Jan 2011, if I enter Canada prior to that entering US for my studies, it would be utterly implausible for me to visit Canada every 6 months to keep my PR status valid. It's quite a situation! What do you reckon on that? Thanks for your previous comment. I truly appreciate it. spring 2011 is not that closer. you will get your Visa stamped passport before that.
Dont worry. As a backup you can do that what you wrote above.

My cousin stayed in India for 6 and half months, she is a PR of Canada.
She was asked by the immigration officer " What did you do for so long outside Canada, my cousing replied that, his father needed treatment in India and there was no one else to take care of him except him. The immig officer smiled and said 'Welcome back Home".
I knew that the rule was you cant stay for more than 3X365days= in 5X365days= outside Canada if you wanna maintain your PR status.
besides, Canada (Toronto) is only an hour long journey from most North Easters US cities.

are you watching on TV what Pakistan flood has done to them? They are a nuke capable country but people are dying in shortage of foods and water born diseases. This is what happens when thousands n thousands of applications reached all accross the CHC's in the world. They have limited people to deal with those full docs.
your turn in no sooner than October or November 2010.
Not even good half March 2010 full docs senders have yet received their medicals.
