Which Comes first for you? That is important.
I dont see any problem with both visas on your passport. would you share why wouldnt you study in Canada? I mean wouldnt it make sense to study somewhere where you got your PR status in?

You can however go to US Embassy and ask them. I'd 1st take my US visa and then send my Passport to Singapore for PR visa.

Glad that you asked. call for PPR would supposedly come first. but i can wait for that and face F1 visa for US first.
Am giving serious thought of pursuing studies in Canada, but since I had pursed the admissions in US for a long while now, hence, thought of giving it a shot.
At least, there is no harm if I have my F1 visa too, even if i finally choose not to go to US.
I am most likely going to face US visa first and then respond to PPR for Canada, just as you thought.
bottom line is, just want to avoid Visa Officer's question- You already have Canadian Immigration Visa, so, why you want to have a degree from US? Or Canadian Immigration Visa gives me an indication that probably getting Immigration is your primary objective- so, on the grounds of "Potential Immigrant" you are denied from US visa this time.

I'd 1st get my US visa as my passport from the US visa section would come back to me within a week of my submission to them. Then I'd give my Passport to CHC Singapore for visa stamping.

Remember, you must live in Canada for 3 years in 5 years time after you 1st land in Canada. It may not be straight 365 daysX 3  but it has to be 1095 days in a span of total 5 years. How would you make up the times youd stay in USA, seems tricky.

In case, I receive visa for US and decides to go there, how does transferring my credits to a Canadian program after one semester sound? (Despite the fact that it involves lot of mobility and expenses of course, let alone, the trouble and toil of settling down in a different ambiance.)

hello dear
i was awaiting my second AOR from singapore office  and i have gut no second AOR since i submitted my docs in june  and sent a case specific inquiry  to the visa office . they  replied as:
Dear Sir

Your file is pending review.  Please refer to the attached acknowledgment letter sent to you in June 2010.

You may check on the status of your application on the web at: www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/index.html

In order to serve our clients better, we will NOT acknowledge receipt of documents or answer further correspondence. Please wait to hear from us."
but it is frustrating that they attached no attachment of the second AOR with the email though they mentioned it in the e-mail. now i am really in big tension thinking what to do.
friends could you please suggest me what to do in this regard.  are there important instructions given in the second AOR ?

invictus,

good plan, go ahead.

imu,

if its Received by Visa office then you sit back relax. keep waiting for the medical.
Visa officers work in hectic working conditions, their job speed and meeting the quality of service is not like BD where most of the workforce always try to skip their job and engaged in gossiping.

imu,

the 2nd AOR gives you a new file number; I have checked the Ecas with my 1st AOR's file number. Both the numbers show the same thing: Received by Visa office. imu, you can now send a reply to them that you havent found any attachment with that mail, remember they are human and make mistakes. Would you check your Ecas using the 1st AOR number? Most of the london office full docs senders havent received their 2nd AOR till now and they are all watching their Status as RECEIVED BY VOSA OFFICE, they are all using the old file number; the 1st AOR number is surely related to the old one. let us know what your Ecas says. in any form of communication with CHC singapore, let them know that you havent received your 2nd AOR. its just a matter of a few clicks for them to find out your entire profile info starting from the CIO's office.
