Background check is a natural outcome during visa process. You can not be sure of 67 points at this stage

Background checks usually start when you recv your medical request. This process does not involve the applicant but Canadian and other agencies, where Canada Checks that the applicant is no threat to the Integrity of canada and is not involve in any kind of activities that threats the security of canada i.e Terrorism, espionage, membership of a banned group, military service, govt official etc.

Standard BC takes 30-90 Days after Medicals
In Depth BC takes 30-365 days

When You recv your AOR from CHC that means your documents have been assessed and you are ok to go.

Top post at a Govt Institute is abit of problem, they might undergo In-Depth Checks.

Any Govt Posts, Military, Security will undergo a through checks. That does not mean that your application will be refused. They will do more checking than usual.

I don't think getting 2nd AOR means a person has secured getting 67 points. Many visa offices issue 2nd Aor based on a quick look at documents to make sure no document is missing. The evaluation will be done at a later stage. I am sure seniors can better comment on this.

When You recv your AOR from CHC that means your documents have been assessed and you are ok to go.

The thumb rule for the whole application process at CHC, that I understand is- you are not cleared until you got the Maple Leaf in your passport. Application can be refused at any stage during the application process.

Your intitial assessment is doen when you recv your first AOR. This AOR informs the applicant that their application is accepted by the CIC for the category that they have applied for. This is one of the reason that most of the applicants recv their AOR in 2 to 3 months. This first AOR also tells the applicant that once the Visa Officer goes through the documents, applicnat will be informed of any missing documents or any requirement to complete without returning the document or refusing the application.

The second AOR (120 days Letter) tells the applicant to submit certain documents in a given time frame. If the applicant fails to resubmit the documents, CHC puts that file for another review on a future date. Even to refuse an application CHC has to follow certain procedures. You can find the guide at CIC site.

You have to get a clear signal from the medicals, once you get it You are all set to go for PPR, but there is a hitch, CHC does so called Backgraound Checks where all the applicants undergo a scanner to make sure they are not a threat to the system. Once all is clear CIC will ask for your passports and stamp the Visa.

The third process is Medicals. This process comes under act only when CIC is 100% sure that this applicant meets all the correct requirements to imigrate to Canada. This is the point where applicant can be bit relaxed, but the journey is not over.

To get the Canadian PR is very easy but the process is as such that frustrates the applicnats.
> But you can be assured that once you recv your first AOR that is the sign that you can proceed with your dream, there will be loads of hurdles surely thats the fun part of it.
