Dear Qorax.
I am a quebec selected applicant from Pakistan and my file was transferred to CHC London in june 2010. In Jan 2011 i received MR + RPRF + Upadated forms and Upadated PCC. And i did the medicals in Last week of Jan 2011 and sent the respective forms + RPRF + PCC in feb 2011, which reached CHC London on 15th FEb 2011. Now its three months i did my medicals what do you think when can i expect PPR?
Best Regards

In the 'best-case scenario' one should get the PPR by 3-4 months from the meds. At max 5-6 months. Anything later meant that the Security Checks weren't that forthcoming.

Hi everyone,

This is my first post. I submitted my application through an immigration lawyer to the NS office. It was received by them on 26 April 2011.

Now, I have some concerns regarding my application:
 - how long do you think it will take to know that my application is complete?
 - My reference letters was dated on 27 November 2010, do you think they could return the file because of the old dated references?
 - My NOC (2121) reached 782 completed applicants. Do you think the applications could reach the cap before they open my file? or my file is counted against the 782 once they receive the application?

I know it's still early to feel anxious, but I can't help it. Roll Eyes

one question seniors:

What does "further background verification" mean? How long does it take?
Is this after "backgroung check"?

thank you for your reply...

1. It usually takes, nowadays, 24-36 months to complete the PR process.
2. It shouldn't be a problem.
3. As u send your apps, it's locked @ the conditions prevailing that time... if a cap is reached now/later - it wouldn't affect u.

Hi Qorax,
You are true Immigration Guru in my opinion.
I was wondering if you could predict when would i get PPR. I am in fsw cat3 buffalo office. I paid my RPRF and did my medicals on Nov 8,2010. It has been exactly 171 days since I did my medicals. I am currently on PGWP working employed permanently in Canada.
Buffalo office confirmed that they have received my medicals results.

Thanks Qorax!

1. Buffalo is the slowest VO... they have their reasons though.
2. CIC usually delays the cases of applicants who r already in Canada.

However, it's unusual that they'd delay a PPR beyond 5-6months of meds [unless security is an issue]. Thus, it might be just on the way. Nonetheless, why don't u send them a 'case-specific' enquiry?

Dear Qorax,

Do the background check explanations / the order in which they proceed hold true for the post June 26th 2010 applicants? I ask this coz I received my Med + RPRF + PPR 10 days post my AOR.

Dear Qoarax,

Could you explain this further please? Does it mean once your application is locked in, it will surely be processed and PRV issued if application is found qualified irrespective of the CAP. or the PRV will be held back until another year?
