Hi qorax,
I PM you this question but I didn't get any reply... Please advise.
We just received our passports with Visa which is valid until Nov 3, 2012. My passports and one of my dependent will be less than six months valid by the time of our landing. Will the visa on the old passport still be valid if we renew the passports before landing? Do we have to send the new passports again to CIC for visa stamping?
Please... please... I need your advise. I emailed SGVO but they never reply.

Usually that e-Cas signifies that ur b/g & security checks stand completed... and ur PPR would be arriving anyday.
-Obviously it also means that ur meds r cleared.
Well if it is done in Ottawa then it doesn't mean your BG checks are complete however your criminality, eligibility and admisibility is already passed at this stag and so is your medical but there is one more big check they have to make sure is Thorough BG checks, CIC forward your details to CSIS and they checks on their system and decide whether or not thorough BG checks are needed if they are that means another 4 to 6 months (i am going through that process now). If they decide not to do your thorough BG checks then they will send back the file to CIC and CIC will then request you PPR within no more than 2 months. Hope it helps. |

Now medical is expired, still no word from them  . MP office told me they have forwarded my case to "international agencies" she didn't use word CSIS but its obvious they send to CSIS. |

Dear qorax
thanks for your effort and very useful advises ,
I'm in FSW1 MI1 category , VO asked for Medical Report and RPRF last month and we sent them in two weeks mid of june , after two emails they didn't reply or confirm the receipt of the MR or RPRF
my question : after 1 month from medical , we need to change our passport since there is not enough room for new stamps or visa while it is still valid for almost 14 months , so I sent my passports to reissue and get new passports .
is it required to inform VO about our new passports at this stage ? or I just wait for PPR and then send the new ones ?
please advise me my friend

Thanks a lot my friend I don't remember but I red somewhere that Qorax told someone that we need to inform VO about the change of our travel document or pp booklet or something like this. Also I worried that sending new passports could cause delay in our process.. really I don't know to take which choice..
1) You Do not need to inform VO. Just wait for the Passport request and send the new passport with the old one.

hi Dears in Back groundcheck iwant to konw how to check the trips?for exmple some one go to france how to check?and does it check trip or when and how has gone to france by airplane or...?i dont know what is important for immigration offices? secondly when a person want to sumbit in skillworker should send all off copy of passport?after 1 and 2 years visa howofficecheck all of trip in 1 or 2 years finally? Hi Qorax,
Could you please advise on this.
Me and my wife are on QSW stream. In May 2012 the ecas turned to "in process". After that they asked for my wife's FBI. We did not submit it with the application because she had been in the states for less than 6 months that time. Now It is more so we sent the FBI clearance months ago. I emailed Ottawa due to Buffalo closure and they said: "You application has been verified and is currently in process. We have received your spouse's FBI certificate and are currently working on security checks. The delay on the website is approximate (15 months) and starts from when we receive your application".
Do you know when this security check started and how long it may take as status may expire in few weeks?
