Dear Qorax and fellow members,

I really need your help.. Well i applied my case back in 2009 from Sweden to CHC London since i am studying here as a student. Last year in dec 2010 I received my Medicals request and RPRF which i submitted in the same month. However now when i was expecting PPR.Upon contacting CHC London through mail I was told that an interview will be required. Now my question is why would they ask for an interview after medicals,PPR and everything!?Is it normal or is it only me?Most of the cases I have gone through now on this website suggests that interview request after medicals are rare? However I am confused since I don't know what might have flagged this interview!I already have ordered My CAIPS. Can u guys suggest what might have caused an interview request at this stage (since i have heard that this interview is mostly a security interview or could it be something else?Huh?)..Has anyone else experienced the same situation of receiving an interview request after medicals.. If Yes kindly let me know about your experiences and what were the primary questions in such interview...

Sohail

U r right on both counts... Yes, it is 'rare' - & yes, it is a 'Security Interview'.
Your travel history/pattern must have raised some queries... CSIS could have raised some issues as well, mainly on name scan &/or profile matching... however, if u have nothing to hide - rest assured u'd fly thru that interview with ease.

Relax & go for it !

Sir Qorax,
i applied in June 2005 at CIC ND.In July 2009 i added AEO(with upgraded papers) in my old case of June 2005.Received no paper from ND embassy. In April 2010 i again applied to CIO with AEO case and got upgradation request in August 2010.I got second AOR in first week of September 2010.Now 8 months are over for this case also.I send case specific enquiry and then a letter, but no reply till date. Now my e-case is showing inprocess with pending review. Can u let me know that how long it will take to process my case.Yrs expert views will be highly appreciated.
Libra

Always remember, AEO helps us in getting the 'additional points' [& an escape from the 'settlement funds'] - however, it also delays our case, 'coz of extra steps taken to 'validate' that job offer.

Nonetheless, given your timeline - u should expect some news soon, in a couple of months.

Thx qorax of course i don't have anything to hide so I guess it should go smoothly. However My father applied for my petition in 2004 for USA.which recently became current and I am currently documentarily qualified at NVC since they have all my documents aswell. I am expecting their interview in approx 4-5 months as well.It would be for US Green Card of course. DO u think that might have caused some concerns for Canadian authorities since I have my cases ready in both USA and Canada right now and since both countries have information and intelligence sharing..
Waiting for response..

Having applications for immigration to other countries is not a big deal. I know someone who applied for Canada and Australia and got visas for both of them a few months apart (first on was Canada).

Yes, there's another member here who got both - Australia & Canada ones - neck-n-neck... in his case the Australian one first.

Ps.: Just that the security checks for certain applicants - from certain region - with certain b/grounds - is a bit strict.

True, Security check tends to be strict for people from certain countries. and another thing might be having applied for immigration of Canada and Australia are two separate things. since both countries don't have any information sharing among them its like they wont know you have applied to Australia unless you tell them but its different when it comes to US and Canada since both of them use somewhat same intelligence, Moreover immigration information is also shared among both. what do u think qorax?

 @  Qorax,

Beautiful thread. Quick question though. Do you have an update on the timelines for BC's now. my file has been in-process since November 11, 2010. E-CAS states:

We have reviewed your your file and we started processing on Nov 11, 2010.

Any idea when i'll get Ned request?

I applied to Accra VO.

Dear qoras,

I would like to clarify some few question with you regarding my application which i am about to submit this week.
1. some of the documents are repeated on both checklist for cio and vo (e.g the application forms), do i need to put each documents on both list or just put it on the cio list and tick the checklist for both?.
2. on the application form schedule 3 (economic classes), question 11 (work experience), under the occupation section. is it my occupation title on my reference letter that needs to be written there or the noc title unlike question 12.
3. on the application form schedule 3 (economic classes), question 12 (work experience), the order of preference. i am applying as an industrial electrician (7242) as my job duties as an electrical engineer matches with the duties describes on the noc. do i need to add the noc code 7241 for electricians as second preference as my job duties also matches with this though i did not mention the code in question 11.
4. I got all the reference letter from all my past employers except for one. the only one i did not get was just for a year experience. i was actually engaged in my main job (company A) but was granted a one year leave by company A to enable me work in the company B as required to improved on my skills after which i had to return to my main job (company A). on completing the programme in company B i was granted a certificate of service which did not state my duties. all efforts to get a reference letter from them failed but i still have photo copies of my id card (original returned on completion), acceptance/posting letter (original issued between companies) and other document that i think will be of use. the problem is that they are all photocopies as these document wasn't addressed to me then but i was able to get the photo copies during the time i was with them. can i use this (as i can notorize photocopies) and add a cover letter describing my role and amount paid. also my main job (company A) has already stated in the reference letter that i was granted one year leave to enable me participate in the programme.
i would appreciate if you could advice me on this.
