Hello Qorax & other senior members,
I would like to know is it possible to do our landing formalities in canada & come back to our home country in say 15 days, rather than waiting in canada for our PR cards? Ofcourse we can give an address in canada to mail our PR cards.
If yes, how can we re-enter canada if we dont have pr card in our hand???
Dear Ma'am,
We have dwelled on it many times earlier.
1. Come back in 15 days w/out waiting for the PRCs:Yes, why not, many do so. However it's not advisable... 'coz if u were to submit fresh pics - u'd be in trouble as they require personal appearance @ the CPC. It happened with many... however not a norm. Thus one could take their chances if s/he has no choice.
2. How To Enter Canada W/Out A PR Card:As per CIC, CBSA & ICAO [notified] regulations, we cannot enter Canada w/out a PRC thru a 'transporting carrier'. However, if we are entering thru a Border Post 'by road' [personal veh], it doesn't matter - our COPR suffices as an entry permit. But, if we are travelling by an airline, railway, sea-vessel & boarding/entering thru an a/port, seaport or rail stn. we will Not be Permitted. At the embarkation port itself we will be Stopped by the transportation staff.
The process in such cases is to apply for a '
PRTD-A31 (3)' [Temporary 'PR Travel Document'] at the local CHC [abroad]. It costs
$50 CAD. Details of it is provided in the 'Manual for Permanent Resident Card' (ENF 27).
