Dear Qorax!
It has been over 2 Months that my medicals were received by the London V.O. However, there is still no update on E-Cas. Please suggest if i should send in an Enquiry?

U shouldn't contact your VO unnecessarily... it bugs up the whole system.
PPR usually arrives after 3-5 months of meds. Around the same time the e-Cas reflects 'MR' [sometimes not done as well]. Relax & hold your horses... if u do not hear from the CHC in 4 months - contact them.

Hello Qorax & other senior members,

I would like to know is it possible to do our landing formalities in canada & come back to our home country in say 15 days, rather than waiting in canada for our PR cards? Ofcourse we can give an address in canada to mail our PR cards.

If yes, how can we re-enter canada if we dont have pr card in our hand???

Dear Ma'am,

We have dwelled on it many times earlier.

1. Come back in 15 days w/out waiting for the PRCs:
Yes, why not, many do so. However it's not advisable... 'coz if u were to submit fresh pics - u'd be in trouble as they require personal appearance @ the CPC. It happened with many... however not a norm. Thus one could take their chances if s/he has no choice.

2. How To Enter Canada W/Out A PR Card:
As per CIC, CBSA & ICAO [notified] regulations, we cannot enter Canada w/out a PRC thru a 'transporting carrier'. However, if we are entering thru a Border Post 'by road' [personal veh], it doesn't matter - our COPR suffices as an entry permit. But, if we are travelling by an airline, railway, sea-vessel & boarding/entering thru an a/port, seaport or rail stn. we will Not be Permitted. At the embarkation port itself we will be Stopped by the transportation staff.

The process in such cases is to apply for a 'PRTD-A31 (3)' [Temporary 'PR Travel Document'] at the local CHC [abroad]. It costs $50 CAD. Details of it is provided in the 'Manual for Permanent Resident Card' (ENF 27).

Thanks very very much for your reply Sir.
But I'm sorry I didnt understand what fresh pics they will ask for? And why??

This is regarding what?
In any case issuance of the PPR is 90% assurity of the PRVs. However, a minuscule 10% risk remain due to various reasons... predominantly with security clearances upon checking the original pp.

If u scan the forums u'd notice many had been asked to submit fresh pics 'coz their COPR ones weren't of proper dimensions... even though the COPR came thru & the BSO hadn't any issue @ the POE.

1. OREQ could/may only occur if they have any Intra-agency reference/docs requirement... usually isn't required in most cases.
2. As u have already done with your meds -- it's very unlikely that u'd have any employment verif. now.

Thanks Qorax....
