Background Check After Medical ?!?!?!?!

Hi All,

I am August/2007 applicant, and done with medical in April-2011, and now waiting for PPR, christmas holidays are on the way.

I sent them email, they replied back that the application is currently undergoing background checks, and will take number of months to complete, and they will be in contact once the results have been received!!!!

I wonder, why the medical request came, and still the background check is not yet done ? As I know, the medical comes only after background check.!!!!

I just wanted to shoot this question here in this forum, to hear expert people opinion about this ?!!

I have done my medical in June and no news till now. Which visa office is processing your file? has your file been transferred to Ottawa cppo?

Dear friends.... thot i'd share my experience here....

am a 2007 Sept applicant.  I did my medicals in nov 2010, waited for PPR until August 2011, sent a mail to London VO and they replied that i was scheduled for a QA interview in October 2011. Now since the interview is over next step is PPR, but unfortunately my meds expired and now they have sent me my med re do letter.  Still have no idea whether i will get my PPR after med re do or are they still waiting for some kind of background check to get over.  But since the interview is through.... I hope and pray the next step would be PPR.  My file was transferred to Ottawa.  Ottawa case files are mostly being interviewed.

What I observed that those who are 2007 applicant and submitted their full docs. upto July 2010, got medical request within two month. They waited for almost a year for PPR and unfortunately got QA interview. I know the person who had the same case and now he is in Canada.

Yes KUR you are right my friend... lucky ones have landed and some of us have reached the last stage (hopefully  )

IS IT POSSIBLE TO BE IN BACKGROUND CHECK AFTER THE MEDICAL IS ALREADY DONE BEFORE 8 MONTHS, AND ABOUT TO EXPIRE  ?!?!?!?!??!

I sent CIC London, email to ask about the PPR, got reply that it is still in Background check, knowing that medical done and sent in April 2011 and today id Jan-2012 !!!

CHC conduct Background Check into steps
1. The Standard Documentation Checks,
2. The Security & Criminality Checks.
After the Standard Documentation Checks, they sent out an MR
and after the Security & Criminality Checks,they sent out PPR

If i am not wrong you believe that once CHC send MR the Background Check completed, which is wrong.
I think these information is helpful for you at the moment

Yes, U R Right ..........I did my medical on July 19,2011 and Jan 19,2012 there will be six months of my medical. I sent two e mail to CPPO ottawa and in replied they told me the same answer that is "Background Check in going on"

Remember us in your prayers..............................................

If i am not wrong you believe that once CHC send MR the Background Check completed, which is wrong.
