Dear forum friends!
I am not new here, but still have some questions  Cry Shocked
I want to know about back ground check for spouse or dependent applicant. I understand that for main applicant VO will check every paper (experience letters,PPC, etc), but what about spouse?
As dependent applicant I don't have 10 years experience and one of the organization where I have been working had closed office a few years ago, and also my school is no more there too due to same new road constriction in the city. So my question is what exactly VO will check? I know about Police clearance but what about the rest? And now I am housewife,so they will call my husband to check if I am really seating at home and not working at all  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin
May be it sounds silly but I little worry....As out process take a longer than we been expected I really hope that it is not because of me.
Thanks to all and Good luck!!!

Cheesy Hi,  don't worry, it is a usual CIC procedure for every one.

The background & security checks are done by CIC through CSIS to determine whether you or your family members are a security risk to Canada. They check into your background - the schools you've attended, organizations you've been part of, military service, jobs you've had and security clearances you've been granted, etc.

In your case it could complete faster because  you are a house wife, never worked elsewhere, never traveled out of your country and never served in Military.

Just relax marvik!!

Thank you guys!!!!
I had work before in 3 different countries and only after I got married I quite.
So my point is, if the organizations and schools physically are no more there for a few years, how  VO can do back ground check? Whom they will ask? How they will find the place?
For example: When I was visiting my home city I just pass by the school area and guess what, it is apparently not there for almost a 5 years  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked ( It was a small school) so now there is a highway!!! As per my country low the history of the documents can be held only for 5 years. When I was studding- computers were only in the dreams Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin
Poor VO how I gave them a hard time I guess  Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

Hi,

As I was reading this forum, and I have a positive feeling that this would certainly help me out from my situation, before raising any questions, I would explain my situation here.

I came to US on F1 after completing MS I am on second term-H1b with a valid i94/i797 and expired H1b visa 2 years ago and working as a fulltime employee in top 100 companies in us, and my wife came to US with me on H4-visa as dependent and changed her status to F1 and now she is on OPTstem extended with a full time job with valid i797 and no visa and her company is in the process of filing h1b for her, we applied Canadian PR and we got to travel Canada before Nov.2011 and return back to US,

for the first visa, I got it from chennai, and for second visa, I went Vancouver and been referred to go back to India, which I got stamped in N.Delhi.

Q. who is eligible for AVR and if its not, is it safe & easy to get stamping in Toronto?

Q. if stamping is required, from where can I get check list for my visa stamping and my spouse visa stamping.

Q. also, can I get website to schedule for dates at toronto.

Any helpfull info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks & Regards,
Prav

Dear marvik2011

Greetings.

I dont agree that they would go all out to check the credibility of your previous schools. It does not matter much for them yes the credibility of your better half do matter.

I do attended my school out of the country and presently there is a main expressway over there, so just relax and pray to God for the best.

Best Wishes.

Hi marvik2011,

Could you tell me how long have u been waiting for background checks?
My Spouse is under background checks since this June. She is also house wife, master graduate, no job experience, no attachment to any organization, no international travelling. Only two residence address after 18th birthday.
I wonder how long they will take to finish this up
