Apply for Canadian citizenship certificate and passport. Your child is a citizen because you are.

Your child is probably a Canadian citizen if one of the following is true:
1- The Canadian parent was born in Canada, or
2- The parent became a Canadian citizen by naturalization.

Second generation children born abroad do not inherit Canadian citizenship, in which case you will need to sponsor him.

Thanks for the reply, Appreciated.

I know my child is Canadian but I do not know what I would need to get from Canadian Embassy in Mumbai and what the process is.

I believe I need a passport or traveling documents? How would I apply for this?

Do I need to obtain my child Canadian citizenship card before the passport?

I heard I also need to get stamping from Indian Foreign affair office before I fly to Canada.

You can read my earlier posts in this subject:

Otherwise you can google the Embassy in New Delhi what doc you need to get your child's citizenship card.
