This question is a little late in the game - but should I have notified CIC officially that my husband and I had a baby? Our son was born in Canada and has a Canadian passport....in the almost 2 years since he was born I have mentioned it several times in my correspondence with the VO, but never did any kind of official notification....should I have?

Perhaps when they ask for new medicals, they will ask him to update family information?

Thoughts?

p.s. I totally just saw my bad English in the title. I'm way too lazy to change that. Sorry grammar police.

If they ever get around to finishing your husband's application, they may ask for updated application forms.  Most often I've seen the request made for a new Background Declaration (Schedule A) and since this application has taken so long, it's possible this will happen with his file.  They may also request a new IMM 008 and the Additional Family Information form as well but they are easy to complete.  So obviously the baby gets added to the forms if this is the case.

Yes they already mentioned that *if* they ask for new documents, the background will be one. I think mostly everything has stayed the same - except for the baby of course. So it shouldn't be too hard to do. What's the IMM 008 again?

It's the new generic Application for Permanent residence.  Doubt they would ask for it.  Probably the other two.
