Hello

I am British and my Wife is Canadian, we live in the UK. My wife has sponsored me for a permanent residence visa. My wife gave birth after the application for a permanent residence visa for myself was submitted.

I have now received the request for my passport so that the visa can be issued. I had initially beleived that since my wife is Canadian then our son will also have Canadian citizenship and so would not have to be included in the application.

We have applied for our sons certificate of Canadian citizenship and when we receive it we will apply for his Canadian passport.

Does anyone have experience with this situation ? Would we be ok to submit my passport to have the visa issued and arrive in Canada with only myself having been assesed on the application ?

I would be very grateful for any advice you can offer

Thank you

I'm in the same situation.  My PR was issued before the birth, but I have yet not landed.  As the child is Canadian citizen I have been informed that I don't have to resubmit my application, but I do need to have a proof of citizenship for the child.
