Hi,

I applied for a TRV for myself & family at the New York consulate (I live near Boston). I sent my Passports via mail (USPS) and have the delivery confirmation. Per the website the processing time at New York is 10 working days. It has been around 15-16 days already and i have not received my passports back. I sent them an email as a follow up but there is no response and they don't accept phone calls. Pls suggest how to get information on what is going on with my application. I want to get back my passport at the earliest.

Thanks!

Hi,

I did send them my passport on 9 Feb'11 and have'nt received anything yet (either returned due to lack of information/documents or with visa). I did send them an email (newyork-im-enquiry @ international.gc.ca) to which they responded that they searched in their system and were unable to find my information based on my name and date of birth (which I never sent). I dont know if this is even reliable.

Any luck with yours? Please update this once you receive you passport, cos i'm getting really worried as well.  Cry

Thanks!

Hi Suee,

Seems like there is a delay in visa processing at the NY consulate. I just got an update a day ago from the consulate that my visa is being processed.
So, there is nothing to worry as long as the passport has reached the consulate. And I believe that the number of applications are high during these couple of months (Feb, Mar and April) because of the "Spring Break".

Lets have patience and wait until we get.  Wink

Will update this once I get my passport.

Cheers!

Hi,

I applied for a multiple entrance TRV on 3 Feb 2011. I am Iranian, so I expected that my application would take long, but this is unacceptable. I tried to contact them but no replies. Sandboy, did you receive your visa, if yes, when?

Thanks,
Ahmad

Hi Ahmad,

No, I haven't received my passport yet. Its frustrating! I even mailed them a couple days ago and as usual there's no response.

Isn't it a common sense that people applying for TRV from USA are from other country and being without passport means you cannot go anywhere outside the country, even your home country in case of emergency? Processing time beyond a month is unacceptable be it any reason, especially for a non resident in US whose primary legal document for their presence in US is their passport!

Anyways, I always check my post box everyday with the hope that TODAY will be the day I'd get my passport.

I will update this post once I receive my passport. Please do the update this post if you receive your passport as well.

Thanks.

Hey SMUPK1,
Its not necessary to send a prepaid self addressed envelope. You dont have to worry about this, consulate will send it in the regular post.

Hope you get yours soon too.

Cheers!

Hi guys,

It took 39 days (including weekends and holidays) for me to get my passport with visa.

You could mail newyork-im-enquiry @ international.gc.ca to get an update or may be request to expedite.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Hi,

Someone know about that newyork visa office regular mail time, Becasue they said to me that your passport mail out from their office on 30th march 2011 and now almost 18 days passed and i not receive any thing from visa office. Plz help then i figure out whasts happening with my passport, otherwise someone said to me that you loose your passport and try to apply for new one, which is very lengthy procedure. Please quick reply will be appreciated, Advance thanks
