  hi can anyone help me on what to do with my case...I send my application as federal skilled worker under nurse category last august 24, 2012 but until now I haven't receive any notification from CIO. Is five months of waiting for the first notification is normal?

Maybe you mean August 2011? If it's August 2011, you should already have received a notification from CIO in the third week of October at least. You should contact CIC for any update of your application.
