I'm just not going to check anymore. when it happens, it'll happen.

Had a dream last night that I got a letter from CIC saying "you're rejected forever" and somehow that means I had been denied residency and had no right of appeal. friggin nightmares..

I'm not sure I did the math right, but if cic keeps up with the 4 days of applications processed for every 7 days, it'll be December 15th or so before ours (received Aug 26) gets processed. Around Dec 1st for them to start on this August group.

So, I guess I'm going to sit back and expect this to be a long haul. We all might as well do the same. Good time to take up a hobby.

August 26 + 66 days is actually November
not December. If the processing time somehow
is lowered (unlikely as that seems) you could
have your app processed in October. Think Positive!

66 days for now... next week 3 more days, then 3 more each week after that = December.

I am normally an overly optimistic person... but where CIC is concerned? Not so much.

If I prepare myself for the worst and the best happens, I won't be disappointed when/if the worst happens. I have an ex-husband to thank for that mindset Wink

Christmas is so far off but so soon.

I make soap (real soap with oils and lye) and I'm getting all my gift soaps made soon. I love making soap - I started to make wedding favors when we got married in April, got addicted, and am going to turn it into a business once I'm legal to work Cheesy I'm already self employed so adding on a business will be fun!

Also packing and trying to sort through what to store and what to take - only 5 weeks til we (hopefully) go up to visit my hubby during this process.

Trying to stay busy but still find myself anxious a lot.

I actually love soap making because it's a craft that I don't need creativity for. I am fairly creative in regards to computers (have to be, I'm a web designer/developer) but I can't draw, paint, sew, quilt, knit, etc. Soaping is more science and that really appeals to me Cheesy

how do we make soap? maybe i can try a hobby like that... for gift giving on christmas..  Smiley

The way I make it - old fashioned cold process - would take more time than you would have to learn and then to let the soap cure, but you can make another type of soap called "melt and pour" where you buy the base, add things like colors and scents, and pour it into molds and you've got soap. Here's a basic tutorial - it links to products from my favorite US soap supply seller. http://www.teachsoap.com/mp.html
