I just got confirmation of receipt from them, sent it on 22 August. I'm not even sure what I am waiting for next, does anyone know?

hey just to have an idea i sent my application aug 2 they got it aug 4 should i be a bit happy that its been almost 4 months since and soon in the next 2 or 3 months it should be done.. im i about right so around jan her visa should be good to go

oh I don't think it works that way... I think it is the VO time and sponsor approve timeframe are seperate. It would be too easy otherwise.

Hi ayad, From what I've read how quickly PR is approved depends on which VO. I go through Sydney office so they currently say 7 months is average, and this is on top of the 2 months I've bee waiting for sponsorship approval, so total time could be 9 months for me. That said, the time Visa offices take to process PR can be much sorter if the case is straight forward and Immigration Officers are satisfied everything is ok. You can check time for individual VO's on the CIC website. |

Hello everyone !
I sent in my Application Aug 02 , CPC-Mississauga Rcvd Aug 03.
I called them Oct 1st to see where is my letter of approval . After being placed on hold for abotu 10 minutes the agent came back with a Client ID number and status as Approved Sponsor !! The application has been now sent to Islamabad for processing as of Oct 12 !
Stage 2 begins !!
For all the worried and stressed souls ! have faith and do call the CIC to check status of Stage 1 . I still haven't received any letter in the mail but by calling them over the phone i was able to get my client ID number and a firm answer as to where the application is .

My VO office's average time for 80% of applications is 5 months for stage 2. When does the time start? As soon as the sponsor is approved or when they get the file?

The VO won't tell you who is doing your application, but from reading other people on this forum, if your case is straight forward it can go much quicker. Unfortunately, you can't really predict. While the sponsor approval time has increased, the PR approval was always the longest time. You will just have to be patient, almost all people being sponsored are going through the exact same thing, and while I am lucky that my sposnor is with me, we have spent 6 months living in different countries so I know how hard it is. Just do all you can to keep in contact, keep busy and get things ready for when you see your wife again so everything will be perfect. |
