Hello All,

Anyone who has their application received by CPC-M on August 4, 2011 and have used Canadapost (expresspost)...

Can I know what is the "delivery time stamped" in your tracking info?

I'm just trying to investigate what had happened to my application ...

The delivery time stamped for my package was 8:28AM ... I'm just speculating that its to early for the post office to be open at that time and so I'm speculating that the mailman might have just left my package in front of the door ... Do you think this can happen?

Please advice. Thanks to all.

 @ beast

I just checked mine..It says that item delivered at 8:27 AM Smiley

I mailed it on Aug 5 by express post next day delivery..but next day came after a week for Canada Post as they put my application package "on hold" for 2-3 days for verification of CPC-M address and finally ended up delivering on Aug 11.

In your case, It is difficult to say who is at fault- Canada Post or CPC-M. Just try contacting Canada Post as well as CIC again on Monday and try to figure out.

Sometimes it happens that they might have started working on your application but it might be incomplete and and they are in process of returning to you and have not updated Ecas ( which is very inaccurate as per previous experiences on this forum) . So in that case even if you call CIC, they wont be able to give you any update as they do not see anything on their system.

This is just a possible situation that I can think of.

Good luck and I wish that you do not need to send everything again. I know how much painful it is to gather all documents again and arrange them in order which took me almost a month.

And one advice- Call CRA and ask for a copy of your Option C again . This is just a preparation for the worst in case they have lost your application and if you need to send a package again. So that you do not waste time asking for it later.

NO..  CIC picks up the packages from the postal outlet personally and nothing is left at the door.

Hi Kuku,

Thanks for your reply and advice again ...

I have a question for you ... why did CanadaPost put your package "on-hold" to verify the address of CPC-M?

I'm also speculating that my package might be misplaced and put into the pile of sponsorship (other family class, i.e. parents and grandparents) ... I hope not but that is one thing I want CIC to check ...

Yes, I plan to call CIC again tomorrow and I also plan to call CRA for the option C stuff ...

Thank you Kuku .. I really appreciate your help and advice.

Hi Magpie,

Thanks for your reply ...

It's the mailman that I'm afraid of that will leave the package on the door if the postal outlet is still close...

But now I know that it is unlikely because Kuku's package was delivered at 8:27AM ... so that eliminates my suspicion ...

Thank you.

They put it on hold as they could not verify the address I provided on the express post envelop.( which was the same one given on their website and the same one you mailed your application to) They never even bothered to inform me that it was on hold. They informed me when I called them up after 3 days when I could not track my package.
I had to raise an issue and give them the same address again on phone and they advised me that it could take anywhere up to 1 month after the item is put on hold. I was really shocked on hearing that. Why on earth was I paying extra bucks for next day Delivery. Fortunately it was delivered after a week.

I would never advise anyone using Canada post service for your important documents. Use private courier services even if you have to pay few extra bucks at least the documents will be safely delivered on timely manner.

I have read incidences on the forum about item being misplaced by CPC-M. It is also possible. Contact your MP if nothing works and let her/him know that item was delivered as per the Canada post tracking system but it has been misplaced by CPC-M. The office will try to figure out if they get a call from MP.

Hi Kuku,

Do you think the same happens to my application, which is they put it on hold? But I don't think so because the tracking indicates that the item was successfully delivered...

What's confusing is a lot of people have been mailing to that address ... and so why did they need to re-check the address ...

The package that you sent with expresspost ... did you get the one with the signature required for receiving the package?

Can we use fedex for sending package to CPC-M? I didn't go with fedex because I know it was a P.O. Box and so I was thinking that there is no one from CPC-M to receive it and sign it.

Do you think my MP can help me with my problem? I'm also considering this option ...

I'm still hoping that my application is not lost ... I really hope to get some answer or even just a sign that my application is there ...

Thanks Kuku.

Cheers.

If the tracking shows that it has been delivered then it must be at CPC-M. I did not send with signature required as the lady at Canada post counter informed me that Express posts do not require signature.

You can use any courier service. The mailing address is different if you send your package with either "signature required' thing or any courier service. There will be a person to receive your mail on that address. The address is given on the web site.

I would definitely involve MP if I do not get satisfactory answer from CIC. It is their fault and not yours, so they are bound to respond to a MP if not to you. Definitely leave him/her an Email or call their office about the issue if you do not hear anything in next couple of days.

Good Luck

A P.O box is a special place that the mail is put into and then taken by CIC.  No door to leave it at.  Have you seen those mail boxes at the post office.  that is also classed as a PO Box.  I just think that you got some bad information from CIC.  It is probably on an agents desk and buried waiting for his attention or maybe place on the side while he waits for confirmation of something on your app.  I waited 83 days to get word and finally word came instantly and from there went quickly.  I think all is okay with your application

 @  Aileenruss:

Yay!!! My only concern is that my hubby's last name is kumar and his surname from the family is written on the 2nd page of his passport..but his approval just said his first name and kumar, the surname was not attached..is that a problem?
