I guess they're just saying that waiting time..a safe answer for them so the applicant wont expect too soon then if wont happen very soon the cranky applicant would call them again and nag them..so they have to tell you that, that's what I thought. It could be sooner than 3 mos tho, when did you first sent the application by the way? I wasn't familiar with your timeline

If they told u to send it to someone's attention and address different that usual PObox where we send file originally, then it's very likely that  you wouldn't have to wait for another 68 days.......

i sent my application aug 2 they got it aug 4 waited for 2 months and some weeks checked online with my id client number application was in process med recieved 4 days later i got the package sent back to me when they online id says its in process and stuff i sent it back oct 26 they got it back

Then I guess and I hope you'll receive a good news from them in 2-3 weeks. I mean the sponsor will get acknowledgement letter, there's nothing to worry for now..the cic call center cannot give you a specific time for the processing, they just have to save themselve in any trouble so they gave you a safe answer. Hope you will feel better now

just addition to my post. They actually told me as well that i have to wait for whatever processing time for first stage. So i thought i really have to wait for 2-3 mos again and to my surprise my they sent the acknowledgement letter to my sponsor dated not even 2 weeks after we sent back our application.

You are correct, you just can not rely on call center information. I was told on Monday that out sponsor app was in process, no update. Told me to call back at end of November. Then 2 hrs later received sponsor approval by email. The call center agents have only limited information available to them.

Well I was able to speak to another agent today, ironically the same one from yesterday , that never happens. I was advised it was just a letter, I guess the app only gets sent back if you have not paid the fees. So that relieves me a little bit. Hope the letter comes in the mail today, so we can get it back to them quickly and get on with our approval!!!

i am able to login into Ecas with UCI no. and it look something like this


Sponsorship Application Status              Permanent Residence Application Status,
Decision Made                                                         Application Received


in Decision made link was writen about " application Received on 18-08-2011, and we start processing on 27-10-2011, and we send a latter of Decision by mail...so and so" and that decision we approved in mail..

But I don't understand 2^nd part about Application Received its say only "we received your application on 18-08-2011"

so Question is how can i find out , when the File has been transfer to VO and what is the status of 2^nd part?

hi vir_ajay...from the below link it is my understanding the ND VO time is 6 months from time the application is accepted by Case Processing Centre - Mississauga aka the time your Sponsorship was approved by Mississauga??? So just add 6 months to your Sponsorship approval date

After how many days/weeks does the VO receive our file transfer?

If so, how is the applicant for permanent residence notified?

Does it ever appear on Ecas?

We got a letter dated October 31st saying that our sponsorship was approved and file has been sent out to New Delhi.

Your inputs are highly appreciated.

Applicants are notified by email in most cases.  Check spam or junk box also.  They will notify you in their own time or use your file number Fxxxxxxxxxxx on ecas.  Depending on the method your VO receives the files anywhere from 2 days on.  Most files are sent to the VO by electronic mail but some do get sent by diplomatic pouch.  I hope this helps.

Correct me if i'm wrong, its called as "Initially Assessment Received"?

This is weird...I already got approval for 1st stage on Nov 8t via email and Ecas still says that we received your application on 30th August 2011.  it also says medical results have been received....
Does anyone know what's going on?

Don't worry, ECAS is not so reliable in terms of updates. Our application was approved 10 days before yours on October 28 and it does not even say "Medical results have been received"..LOL
