Even I provided them my email id, still they mailed me the sponsorship approval letter instead of emailing it. So I dont know whether they gonna follow what they mention on their site and send AOR and PPR on sponsored person's Email or the mailing address provided.

]] Sponsorship approvals according to CIC is normally sent by mail to confirm that the sponsor lives at the address indicated and that he or she is in Canada. New forms now allow the sponsor's email address. As for the PR application. When it is in the hands of the VO it is usually sent by email. |

congrats! did you got it by email? No I havent recieved anything yet, but I called the call centre just to enquire, and she had told me a decision has been made On October 20th and a letter has been mailed out to me, that my application has been sent to Kingston High Commission for further processing and that my application was approved and I met the requirements for sponsorship.  so, hopefully I will get a letter soon! by the end of the week would be great! |

Hi all I had a question about visiting my girlfriend. I am a US citizen living in the USA and she is in Quebec (she is sponsoring me as common-law partner) and I wanted to go visit her for 12 days and come back because I work and live in the US at the moment. I wanted to know if I need to bring anything when I cross into Canada besides my US passport? I don't want the immigration officer thinking I am moving there already. Our application was sent Aug 24 and she has not be approved as of yet.I'll cross driving my car.
(I've read topics on this in this website but it is still not clear to me as to what should I bring or expect)

As far as I've heard it's all up to the discretion of the Immigration Officers at the border... I think as long as you can show you intend to return to the US that you should be ok. Assuming you have some documentation authorizing a leave of absence from your employer you could take that with you just in case. In theory you shouldn't have a problem, but at the end of the day it always boils down to whoever you are dealing with at the border. Of course I don't have any experience with this but, in theory there's nothing stopping you as far as I know. Good luck! |

i sent the the wifes paper work back to mississagua it should be there by friday, and how do i know if thy got it and they have starte it again cuz the people i keep talkin to are retarded lol i hope my wife comes fast my cusin bought his wife in 2 months
