Hi PMM,
My wife's parents are intending to visit us here in Canada as my wife is expecting....and would like to be here for 2-3 months.
My Father-in-law is a well settled entrepreneur back home and would be able to provide proof of income,bank statements etc..to prove that he would be able to support my mother in law and himself while his stay here.
Do I still need to attach my pay stubs with the invitation letter that I would be sent them?....and would the invitation letter be
addressed to my in laws or to the Visa authority?
Your response would be appreciated

I would also like to know if I should get the letter of invitation notarized and whether I should email the scans of the Documents (Dr. note, pay stubs and letter of invitation) OR courier the docs to my in laws.

Courier, no you don't require the invitation notarized as you are sending the original. PMM |

the only reason why I thought of scanning the docs...was to save time....but now I will courier it....
And do you by any chance know what the processing time for Islamabad is? ....I feel my in laws are pressed for time (more so, cause the Christmas holidays would start mid-Dec) as they would like to be here by mid january....

Their web site quotes a minimum of 30 days, plus longer if a medical is required (visitors over 6 months) PMM |

Yes, it can. Officers like to see travel where the applicant has returned after visiting another country, in other words a track record. As long as your in-laws can demonstrate strong ties to their home country, family, business, residence so that Canada doesn't appear to be a "pull" factor and they won't return. They should document their strong ties to their home country. PMM |
