At a crossroads....

Hello all,
Like a lot of people have been saying on here, this PR application process is all-consuming.
I (UK citizen) have been in Canada for three years - initially on a temporary work permit and then an extended work pemit.
My wife (Canadian) and I married last year and I applied for spousal-class PR in April. I received AIP a couple of weeks ago - it requested a police clearance from the UK (I had already provided a German, Australian and South Korean police clearance certificates). I sorted it out, sent it off and the UK police have received it and are processing it as we speak.
My questions are these. I have legal status in Canada until early December. I have a temporary work permit application ready to go and my employer is sorting out the Labour Market Opinion for my continued temporary employment. Do I need to send in the TWP application now that my PR application is pending final approval? I have been trying to get some answers over the phone to no avail. How long from AIP (and receipt of the UK police certificate) to full approval, assuming everything is kosher? I'm obviously worried - I don't want to be without status in Canada.

If you applied for spousal IN CANADA CLASS and have received AIP, you can now apply for an open work permit. You will NOT need an LMO from any employer. However, if you applied outland (your application is being processed at an overseas embassy) you do need to obtain an LMO and TWP to maintain working status. The answers to your question depends on which way you applied for PR.
