Are Visa Office in U.S accepting that an applicant gets a Canadian friend to get visa instead of having it mailed in?

I lost my passport with valid US Visa during a robbery and don't want to mail what i'll get.. scared of "lost in mail status".

you will be fine if you send any document with a tracking number/receiption receipt

I have same fear.

However, use a dependable courier like FedEx or DHL with tracking number so you can check and confirm it's receipt.  I used FedEx to mail FSW package half way round the world.  No problems.

Yes for sure buffalo does that , they will return on the same day you have to send your friend with a letter.

guys u rock! i thank you all for posting answer and comments to my question. I cannot mail the passport even by xpress because i might be out of status shortly after mailing it out or by the end of 15bus. days comes and i get visa in hand.
So, thks for showing me i can indeed send s.b. on my behalf.
