what do you mean by "after some time you may inquire to see if your turn has come up and any agent was assigned to your case or not?"
Is there a link where we can take a look and see how far our AEO has been processed?
We got our filenumber because our future employer has send a copy of the confirmationletter to us.
At first we got a processing time of 5-10 weeks but now they say 18-20 weeks, so our patience will be tested I think Wink
They even said that the processing times are different for each province, but for ON it WAS 5-10 weeks.
Hopefully the embassy will work harder and we will be having our visa early next year..... Smiley

I mean you can inquire from (your lawyer to inquire from) your employer to inquire from Servcie Canada about the status of your application. Unfortunately no online status checking for AEO, as much as I know. Anybody has further information for online checking?

Hi All,

How2 do you all get arranged employment. I searched on Google and most of the sites that come up look like scams or may be im just afraid they would be. Has any one ever used any site and got an AE opinion.

Thanks

You have to search. You may use this page of this site of canadavisa-campbell cohen:
Home > Work in Canada > Canada Job Search Tool

I, myself, found it through my own employer, as his type of business needs my expertise which is 8 years background and special skills I have due to my regional and local information. I can help him boost his export ....

We live in Holland.
We have send about 500 applicationletters with resume by mail, phoned the employers who gave us a reaction and got 7 interviews at the end.
Went to Canada for about 14 days, and got a joboffer in the end!
All the employers we spoke told us that they didn't want to do business with a jobsearch agency because there are a lot of scams going on.
In the end, your AEO may be refused by the HRSDC and you'll end up with nothing... Cry
And the employers also said that they really can appreciate the time and money you put in to get a job.
They think the first impression you give is very important and they miss that with a jobsearch agency...

So hopefully we get our confirmation soon and can get started with the visa application!!!!

Hi, this is my first post and I'd like to join this forum as well. My employer just submitted an arranged employment application- mailed July 19, for an accounting position in Vancouver, BC.

Ouch! It sucks to know that Service Canada is taking awhile to process appl.   My idea was 4-12 weeks processing. I gather some of u are getting different processing time info. maybe it depends on which province the job offer is? Maybe we can all identify which specific province our job offer is in our post so we can compare timeline.  Smiley

Thank you all for contributing for this thread and discussion. Keep it up.

Twilightgirl, it is difinite that your application will take more than 20 weeks (5 months), as mine is from Brunswick and my job offer is from Surrey, as my employer is from there.

Ok, all members, can you tell us how many Service Canadas are there responsible for AEO? Please note not LMO (Labour Market Opinion) ...

As much as I know minimum two are there: Brunswick and Ontario, is not it? HRSDC site says:

Temporary Foreign Worker Program
Service Canada Centres that process Foreign Workers
If you are applying for Academics (University Professors), Medical Doctors or Specialists, Registered Nurses and/or an Arranged Employment Opinion, please send your application to:

•For all regions (except Quebec):

Service Canada
Temporary Foreign Worker - Centre of Specialization
1 Agar Place, PO Box 7000
Saint John, NB E2L 4V4
Phone: 1-866-673-0711
Fax: 1-866-585-7524 (toll free)

•For Quebec:

Service Canada
Temporary Foreign Workers
715 Peel Street
Montréal, QC H3C 4H6
Fax: 514-877-3680
If you are hiring a Live-in Caregiver (including Quebec), please send your application to:

•Service Canada
Temporary Foreign Worker Program
P.O.Box 6500
Toronto LCD , Downsview A
Toronto ON M3M 3K4
Fax: 416-954-3107 or 1-866-720-6094 (toll free)

Hi xnista,

I think you are right with your info......
There are not enough HRSDC offices for such a big country as Canada!!!!!!
We got our joboffer in Ontario and had to send our AEO to New Brunswick, this because they handle the AEO applications.

Twilightgirl:
We also thought that the processingtime was 5-10 weeks and it WAS.....but now it's up tp 18-20 weeks.

Still have to wait, we are heading to our 10th week now...... Huh

Louise!

Dear Louise-01,

It is interesting, your job offer is from Ontario but your file is in Brunswick. My job offer is from British Columbia and my file is in Brunswick as well! So all the AEOs are processed in BN, unless it is from Quebec, isn't it? Anybody can verify this?

Hi xnista,

you are right, ALL the AEO applications will be processed in New Brunswick!
( a friend who is working at a visa office told me)
The AEO from Quebec will be processed there because they have different rules.
That's why it's taking 18-20 weeks now a days Angry, 1 office for all of Canada....

Louise!

Hi Hi,

Hmmm, then is that really picking up? I mean is there a sudden pick in job offers? Either the economy has moved up or there is a rush on this AEO category, as it is straight forward and fast ...

So, the Toronto one is just for LMO, it seems and BN one is Center of Specialization which should mean AEO ...

Thanks Louise-01. Others: Any opinion? Seniors, any comments?
It really sucks, because suppose God Forbid, after 20+ weeks, my AEO gets negative opinion, then I have to start all over again, this means considering 12 months of main SW application I have again 2 years queue to reach Canada Sad(

Hope government will be smart enough to act urgently and add another center of specialization, let's cross our fingers.

Hi all,
I hope SC will try to speed it up esp now with the changes in FSW limiting qualifications to  the 29 NOC, the only other way then would be to have arranged employment. I hope SC is prepared to take the load, otherwise, it would appear that Canadian visa office would just pass on the backlog to SC!!!  And it's already happenin!!!!

Louise, have you tried following up with SC? Any response? I plan to make a follow up on my case (well, make my employer, that is) after a month. I think if a lot of people are bugging them, they would try to speed things up!  Smiley
