I'm sponsoring via Damascus. My wife is from Jordan. We put down a PO Box address for a mialing address there. Someone told me that PO Boxes are not allowed, but I'm having trouble believing that since thats the only way anyone gets mail there...

is this true?

my app started processing July 13 we havent gotten an AOR so i'm thinkin maybe thats why

PO Box is perfectly acceptable
Not all offices send an AOR Letter

I think what they meant is that dhl or purolator will not accept po box addresses coz they have to deliver it to a person... po boxes are fine because unless your embassy send you stuff via dhl or other companies... then it will not be a problem... I know of one embassy that sends via dhl..which is abu-dhabi.. i don't know if they do this anymore but they did in the past for some countries only.. if the mailing system is not reliable...
