I am wondering if it is legal to use Tire chains during snow and icy conditions in Vancouver. I bought pair of chains and the guy in Canadian tire did tell me it is okay to use them during snow. but, I have not seen anyone using Tire chains. Tire chains seems like a good alternative to Winter tires for occasional drivers. I will appreciate if you can share any of your thoughts and experiences. Thanks!

I asked the same question previously, and this was the reply:

Thanks. It is still not clear.  I am wondering about the laws for roads inside the city such as downtown.
