According to the embassy in Mexico city..........

"If you stayed in Canada illegally, if you were ordered officially to leave Canada in the past, if you ever were deported from Canada, you could need an Authorization to return to Canada (ARC) and you should not attempt to travel to Canada again before obtaining this special authorization. "

"Approximate processing time

Due to their more complex nature, applications for Authorization to return to Canada cannot be completed the same day when submitted in person.

Normal processing time is 6 months."
