ARC fee ????

Hello everyone. this may be a silly question and may be already answered but ok here goes
I payed for my husbands arc fee back in march 2011 and since then I call in western union to find out if the cheque has been cashed and nothing am worried if they lost it or its not valid but when my lawyer sent them an email they say my application is in queque to be reviewed by a visa officer thats it, as well do they cash the arc at the end when am going to get approval/ denial or at the beginning, any thoughts, Thanks a million ))

Mine was cashed at the beggining and it was actually stated on my CAIPS as well, that they casehd the Draft cheque before sending my ARC application to get processed....

I am not Family Class sponsored applicant....

oo ok well thats what I hear all the time but with me I sent it in since march and nothing so am worried but lets see what happens
