I just got off the phone with CIC agent and she told me that my application has not been opened yet.....but she advised that I can keep checking website by using my client ID that I got when I landed in Canada....just a piece of info for people who are waiting

I have my SO's client ID from our visitor visa application last year, can I log into ecas with that, or do I need my own client ID (I am the sponsor) for sponsorship approval
I think you need his File Number but at the same time a client ID usually shows everything so I bet it would work. But you won't see anything on his side until after approval. |

Actually mc1234, the number we got for my DH's visitor's visa never worked with ecas for anything. But I don't think it was a client ID, just a file number.

true say funny thing is i didnt even apply in april, im in the june batch. but mine wont be done until april n may's well - it's CIC ! so you never know... 2 people from 28th May received AORs! looks like they have started the new bar codes and sending AORs to some applicants, so you might get an AOR even if you are in June before a lot of April applicants hear anything... no rhyme or reason to CIC logic, I gave up a while ago trying to understand what is going on, and just try to wait patiently... Just called CIC call center and the guy told me that today they are opening envelops recd on 3rd April, so he can not tell me anything about my application which was recd on 19th April. He told me to wait 16 more days to call them. Before that day they can not tell me anything :-(

Come on CIC!!! Let's go!! More approvals before the weekend! Next Friday will be 93 days for me, and ironically, it will be Friday the 13th...my application was received on April 13 (a Friday)...I'm hoping for the approval by then...spoooky!!
