I give up on trying to understand how CIC calculates their processing times. I find it funny how they say they're working on Feb 15th, yet the one person whose application was received on Feb 15th is yet to get approval. And there's about 10 people who sent theirs after who have been approved. I realize there's probably plenty others who have applied that aren't on the forums who we don't have account for. I picture the individual responsible for updating the times to be a chimpanzee in overalls punching in random numbers on the keyboard. Heh, that's an amusing thought!!
CIC made a big mess on processing times. People are confusing because their web site information is not correct. Most of the March approvals are from Ottawa Office. Mississauga Office is slower than Ottawa and they have much more applications. |

I applied in April as well. I am sponsoring my spouse from the US and living with him there with our 3 boys. We've been married for 13 years now. Hopefully we all hear something very soon. I think he will have to redo his medical though cause he did it in Feb. My goal is to be there in summer of 2013 though. So I hope it all works out.

Hope the current backlog caused by the Jan end/Feb applicants will ease as they process April batch. I wish the processing time comes down so that we can start to hear the good news of our approvals as early as possible... Cheers to us Aprilicants!

indeed - now somebody from 12th March got approval today! so it is getting closer.. looks like they sent most of the march applicants to Ottawa and they are processing files quite fast, so hopefully April was also sent to Ottawa so we could start hearing something in less than a month - end of June would be great ( wishful thinking here obviously...).

I think you're right Sweden. Most of the approvals in the past two weeks have been approved under the 90 day mark, especially those in March. If we are so lucky that ours were sent to Ottawa, we should be hearing from CIC soon enough. I look forward to starting to update the spreadsheet with approvals!! Things have been kinda boring these past few months!

Yes, I really hope they have sent our applications to CIC-O! It seems that CIC-M is EXTREMELY slow to process applications.
I can't wait to start seeing approvals on the spreadsheet!
Then on to stage 2 and hopefully a much shorter processing time!!!

hi kingcobra, how did you know that CPC has received your application? Is it through the courier or has CPC sent you an Acknowledgement of Receipt? I am asking this because we haven't received any AOR so far. |

koala, don't worry about not receiving an AOR. It looks like IF AOR's are even sent out, it's once they start working on your application... it seems most get sponsorship approval not long after getting an AOR. It doesn't appear that CIC sends out AOR's upon receipt of an application, like it would make sense to do. And I can't figure out why only a few random people get AOR's, perhaps only a few (or possibly just one) officers are sending them out.

No AOR yet obviously, as they are just processing Feb/March applications. I know CIC-M received my application as I tracked my package via CanadaPost- my item was delivered on the morning of 17th April. However, if you have a previous application (I do have an application for Citizenship), I can use my Client ID to log on to E-CAS and check. Still nothing related to the sponsorship approval, though it shows my citizenship application in Process. |

Does anyone know how long it takes CIC-M or CIC-O to transfer the file to the visa office? We're going through Hong Kong, so I am guessing a couple of weeks. Anyone have experience with this?
CIC-M, according to their website, are nearly finished February. March is moving along with a lot of people getting approval. Do you guys think they will be able to start April by the end of June? They have 3 weeks left to finish March...am I being too optimistic?
I just want the blinking approval already!! I am getting sick of this waiting! I know we are all in the same boat...most days I'm fine, but today I'm feeling anxious about this whole process! The worst is the sense of helplessness...even trying to connect to the call center is becoming difficult....
At least it's Friday!

My file went to Mexico City. I got an AOR less than 3 weeks after my approval and file transfer. So it's actually pretty fast.
I think April will get started in June based on the approvals I've seen.
