NewlyWed!! OMG!! That's awesome! We're still awaiting our stage one approval. I reckon it's cos we're doing it by mail as oppose to email and the postal system is slow. I've been stalking the mailman. He doesn't seem impressed by my ninja like actions of pouncing on the mail when it arrives! Hopefully things move nice n quick for us after this though. 6 months is short! I'd be happy with that. We're aiming to leave in March when the school year finishes.

Same here! A January approval would no doubt result in ninja like dancing in front of my computer singing the anni anni song to the thought of a new contract. Jaja! Good luck with the mailman.

CKnd... goodnews is i was able to talk with an agent... not yet so good news is they are still reviewing my case since i declared unemployment... so they are looking if i can sponsor my spouse... they say decision may be by end of august through email... now this is making me nervous
and of all the times baby poops and cries... it was the time the agent was talking with me... i wasn't able to ask if they received my email regarding update of status which is the birth of our baby last june 4... so i guess i have to try and call again
or should i wait for the decision first?... i don't know if asking about it will complicate or delay the process more...

Fireluck, They are prolly just trying to verify you are receiving the unemployment benefits and not on social assistance. just remember in the back of your head no income requirement on Fam class other then not being on social assistance or being in bankruptcy. You will get your approval just taking them abit longer to verify... fingers crossed you here something sooner then the end of August!!

Might be worth waiting until you hear from them about the approval to not confuse them more. You have done your part and send them a mail about the update, so now I think you can just wait. Once it gets transferred to the VO (soon hopefully) then you can check wth them. If the baby is canadian, you won't need to sponsor him/her. If he/she is not, then you might need to redo the forms to add him/her on the application, to make sure that he/she is included and get a PR at the same time as the rest of the family. Good luck with waiting, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Best, Sweden

thanks sweden... baby is canadian... so its a matter of updating them that i gave birth during the waiting process... and to confirm i was pregnant although i sent them ultrasound copies with my app as supporting docs... so i guess its enough proof. anyways i'll be considering your advice to wait until i hear from them again... i just thought they might consider processing my app faster because of our baby since i really need my husband to help babysit and so i could start working too.

Unfortunately I have read somewhere (on CIC website) that pregnancies are not a cause for faster processing, so I am not sure it will change anything. Now it seems that you have done the best you could, and your approval is probably around the corner. Very few people get denied ( and if they do, there are some very obvious reasons), so if you are in the criteria, you will be approved. It's really hard to be waiting that long, especially in your case with a young baby, and I really feel for you. Luckily your VO is one of the fast ones, so maybe you will get a faster stage 2 than stage 1! Good luck with waiting, it's almost over - and each day that passes brings your approval closer to you! Cheers, Sweden

Hey Fireluck ... glad to hear you finally heard from them, better then being left in the dark. I would have to agree with the others, I'd wait till you get your approval, to lessen the confusion. As for the unemployed bit, like the others mentioned, spousal requirements do not require an income. So the CiC will check to see if you are eligible, which 95% of the time most people are unless you'v been arrested, charged for a crime, or been refused as a sponsor before ( they are mainly looking for things like that ). Now once your VO gets your application ... that's where your income will pay a role, even though it is not required it will help prove your ability to support your sponsor, but I'm sure with all of the other evidence you have submitted, you wont have a thing to worry about Any day now ... your approval will arrive
