I am applying within Canada and for some reason the initial process takes 11 months, but it's worth the wait so I'm ok with it.
I wouldnt mind the wait if i was already there! Im impatient about anything, but this is killing me!! On top of that the family situation out there is complicated and on our last visit it became obvious that there was a need for my husbands presence. We want to go NOWWW!  Roll Eyes

Yeah I understand people would choose to apply inland if they could, the only thing is that they still can if they choose to send me back to the UK at any point in the next 11 months to complete my application process.

So still got my fingers crossed.

you are welcome. This really gives some hope. I had read the stats about the last few years and the applications have dropped in Hong Kong. Still no clear answer on rejection rates.

It's still 84. Check the dates. If it is before april 17 it's just the website messing up. 84 is accurate - mane even longer if you look at the January spreadsheet. No one is getting approval.

Welcome neemann !

Yes, CIC is running really slow on these applications  from the last few months.  I have submitted my application just a week earlier... seems like we have to atleast 2 - 3 months before looking to get any kind of update from CIC.

Good Luck !

It's still 84. Check the dates. If it is before april 17 it's just the website messing up. 84 is accurate - mane even longer if you look at the January spreadsheet. No one is getting approval.

It means once the open the package it will take them up to 74 days to give you a decision on the first stage - sponsorship approval. So currently it says they are working on January 19 and taking 88 days to make a decision. so that means you have a couple months till they open the package and then up to 88 days to receive a decision.

Ouch, 88 days now - long wait for us lowly April applicants. Interested to hear how others are coping while awaiting judgement - how are you keeping your mind busy and your thoughts clear? Sudoku? Gym? What?

No that is wrong. It's 88 days from the day your application arrived. They usually decide the same day they open it.
