I think the spreadsheet was updated by mistake. Seems like everyone has gotten their Passport requested. I am sure as heck I haven't, even though the spreadsheet says I have.

as far as i understand it, red dates under PPR are just an assumption... black font is the actual date....

Yes, that's what I did. The same as the first column when I tried to guess when people might get their approval as sponsor. Black is indeed the only (one) actual record.

Hello! You might like to re-post this question in the main forum rather than this specific thread. But I would suggest that you start by learning the difference between an in-land application and an out-land application, download the forms and guides, and start gathering the evidence you'll need for your relationship. Oh, and make sure you take lots of pictures at every formal event in your marriage process. Also take photos at every meeting of the families, every excursion you take, etc. The more proof you have of the standing of your relationship, the better.

Someone who's already been through the spousal PR process gave me an interesting link. It's an access-to-information request process that allows you to access your file with CIC. Rather than hiring a lawyer or consultant to do this, you can get all of the details on where your application stands and what's in your file (e.g. comments by CIC staff). http://www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/tbsf-fsct/350-57-eng.asp

Can someone please tell me whether ECAS turns Permanent Residence Application Status into "In Process/Progress" from "Not Available" before sending out the Passport request letter?
The Sponsorship was approved long ago on 19-May-2011. However the Permanent Residence Application Status is still "Not Available" for my application. I wonder whether others have come across the same question/situation?
Thanks in advance for any response to this.

hey e-monkey,
i´m from the march thread but here is how it went with my e-cas.
i got a letter from the vo requesting my passport, but nothing else! my e-cas still said application received, just on monday it changed in process, and medical reiceived.
btw i don´t know what this passport request means, because i read in some threads on this forum that some vo´s ask in advance for the passport and i don´t know why. on the website it says that the vo in berlin needs 13 months to work on the application so i´m confused and curious.
bye

Is that to add some security to the process, or to give them some surety that the application is going ahead? hi guys... received ack. letter from canadian consulate dated 25th may 2011....so it means ... i got approval in 30 days as i filed my application on 25th april.....anyways.... happy to receive it Me, too. Your record's updated.

The website says 80% of cases are completed in 13 months. That means some could be done faster, some could be done slower. You really need to be positive, your PPR means Berlin is ready to issue the visa, that office is NOT one of those that requests the PP before they are ready to issue a visa. Some offices, especially in southeastern Asia, request the passport as part of the processing and NOT in order to issue the visa. The decision to issue the visa is not yet made when those offices request the passport from applicants. Part of it is, as you say uccemebug, for security reasons.

It sounds to me like April's Berliners and SE Asians should get passport-sized envelopes addressed and stamped as they'll be among the first to receive the requests. Really good input, CharlieD10. As ever.
